Program Description

Silk Reeling gets its name from the continuous movement a person must make when drawing silk from a cocoon by hand. They must pull the silk in a smooth and continuous manner. If not, it will break.

Your body works in a similar way. The more smoothly you can move, the less likely you’ll injure yourself and the less pain you’ll experience (especially as you age).

Silk Reeling (Chansujin) is a “complete body movement” method that forms the foundation of movements behind Qi Gong and Tai Chi. Movement starts in the Tan Tien (energy center), then your extremities follow.

This gentle spiraling and swirling movement allows you to flow like water: fluid and free. It also increases mobility in your joints, relieving stiffness and pain.

Silk Reeling movements are the building blocks of nearly any practice.

In the Silk Reeling Qi Gong Workshop, you will…

  • Discover the foundational movement method behind Qi Gong.
  • Relieve stiffness and pain in your hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, wrists, and hands.
  • Learn how to achieve continuous “complete body movement” by utilizing the innate power of the Tan Tien (energy centers).
