Have you ever wondered Lee actually started teaching Qi Gong? If so, here's a great video from a couple of year's ago where Lee shares the story of his first Qi Gong teaching experience.
Hear how Lee was inspired to ignite the life-force energy in others and the journey that brought us to Lee certifying Holden QiGong instructors to teach others, or advance their own practice to the highest levels.
Lee is an internationally known master Qi Gong instructor and an expert in making ancient wisdom applicable to modern life. He is also a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and successful author. He has been featured on American Public Television and on select PBS stations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Through his DVDs, Public Broadcasting specials, classes, workshops, courses, and teacher certification program, Lee has helped tens of thousands of students discover Qi Gong, heal from injury and disease, slow their aging process, maximize their energy, and feel better than they ever have before.
Yes! Think of this program as an “Advanced Qi Gong Practitioner” track.
You’ll learn everything you need to build your own Qi Gong routines and understand how Qi Gong works on a fundamental level.
No! The training builds into more advanced material over time.
If you’re a relatively new Qi Gong practitioner, you’ll learn the details of each movement and the Traditional Chinese Medical theory behind it.
You’ll also learn how specific Qi Gong exercises positively impact your own energy system, as well as when, and when not, to practice certain movements.

You will receive lifetime access to live monthly group Q&A Zoom calls with Lee. Once you join, you’ll have access to these calls for life. These Q&A calls are the perfect place to get feedback on your form from Lee.
One of our Senior Instructors, Kele Baker, has put together a series of Masterclasses on form, posture, and movement mechanics to help you feel confident in your form as you learn and teach.
You’ll also get access to our private, practitioner-only online community. It’s the perfect place to ask questions and get support from other teachers.
Finally, you’ll receive two private one-on-one sessions with our senior instructors. These sessions are mandatory to get your certification.

If you set aside 30 minutes a day, you could become fully certified in just under a year. If you set aside 60 minutes a day, you could become fully certified in under six months.
But you can take as long as you need to because the program is self-paced and you have lifetime access.
You are required to complete 200 hours of training to receive your certification:
40 hours: The Five Elements Online Course
40 hours: The Three Treasures Online Course
10 hours: Pre-recorded Teacher Training Weekend
58 hours: Personal practice, diving deep into the Five Elements and Three Treasures
30 hours: Practice teaching Qi Gong to others (friends, family, or free classes)
20 hours: Additional study materials included in the program such as the Qi Gong Flow for Beginners, The Flow Continues, and Deeper Flow from Qi Gong for Health and Healing
3 hours: Private one-on-one sessions with our senior instructors to help refine your technique and prepare you to teach students of your own.
Plus:
Final written exam
Record a 15 to 20-minute teaching demonstration video leading one of our senior instructors through a Five Elements routine. You will give your teaching demonstration virtually, not to a live class.
We take your certification and ability to teach Qi Gong effectively very seriously. It would take a lot, but you could potentially become certified and start teaching in as little as 6 months. Although, about 8-10 months is more realistic.
Once you become certified, you’ll be invited to create a profile on the Holden QiGong Teacher Directory so that potential students can easily find you. All you need to do is submit your information, keep your account in good standing, and maintain current certification requirements.
You are responsible for continuing your training by adding at least 20 hours of Live/Online Training every two years after your certification date. Eligible training includes previously recorded, live, and cohort versions of Holden QiGong workshops, online courses, in-person retreats, or in-person teacher training events. If you maintain an active Video Class Subscription for at least one of those two years, you may count 10 hours towards your total of 20 hours. Only workshops and courses purchased after your certification can be counted.
The Holden QiGong Healing Series routines, Learning Series routines, or Lee’s teachings at non-Holden QiGong events cannot be used towards your maintenance hours.
The Teacher Certification Facebook Group is the best place to get support from the Teacher Certification community.
Here are some common ways students support each other:
Asking and answering questions about the Teacher Certification Program material. (Don’t worry, you can always ask us too!)
Celebrating certification milestones and “big wins.”
Making sense of “aha” moments when learning new material and practicing new movements.
Expressing deep gratitude.
How to communicate and work with clients in a way that supports both the client and the practitioner.
While we’d love for you to join, you can complete your certification WITHOUT joining the Facebook group.
We recommend you dedicate 30-60 minutes a day to the program. That’s 2.5 hours to five hours a week if you only practice on weekdays.
You could complete the program in just about a year if you practice 30 minutes a day, or in about six months if you practice 60 minutes per day.
If you’re more experienced, this training program is the perfect opportunity to deepen your practice and understanding of Qi Gong and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
You’ll learn powerful tools to deepen your practice and resources to help you maintain your health and the health of your family and community. Plus, you’ll get insight into which exercises and routines people can use to support their healing.
There’s a reason many people say, “Teaching is the best way to learn.”
No! You do not need to have experience with a martial arts master to teach or learn Qi Gong. In fact, even those with reduced mobility can enroll and become amazing Qi Gong teachers.
The short answer is yes, we’ve designed this program specifically for those learning virtually. However, learning online is a different environment than learning in a classroom. That’s why we have our private Holden QiGong Teachers Facebook group. It provides some of the “classroom” environment where you can connect with other students and get support.

If you enjoy helping others, it's exhilarating to teach people how to help themselves heal and to have tools that let you truly help people heal.
When we’re in a “provider” role, it is also vitally important to lead by example and take care of ourselves. It's up to us to find our own stress management, emotional balance, grounding, and strength in our boundaries. So we can offer as much as we can – but not too much!
And like we said above: Qi Gong is a powerful set of tools you can use to empower the people you work with to heal themselves.
Yes, of course. Our Student Support team is always ready to help answer your questions. Email [email protected] or call 1-844-4-QIGONG and we'll be glad to help.
